A year ago internet portal Ratel.kg published a quite scandalous interview under a loud heading “Kazakhtelekom” under its current administration is a direct threat to national security of the country”. According to the counter, from the period of May 26 to May 28 of 2017, over 206 thousand people have viewed it.
Such public attention to the material is not surprising. De facto it was a public shakedown by Dalyapraz Buketova – ex-director of the HR department of AO Kazakhtelekom simultaneously on the chairman of the board of the company, Kuanyshbek Esekeev (pictured right), managing director of media content promotion Baurjan Izbasarov and on infamous Aygul Nurieva (pictured left).
Those who already forgotten (or haven’t read) of what madam Buketova has accused the aforementioned people, we directed you to the source. However, we are more interested in reasons for why this shakedown has happened and in its consequences.
First and most obvious explanation: the former director of the HR department has lost her cool and (or” haven’t had another choice, but to publicly defend herself from the impunity of higher ups of the national company.
If that is so, then the current minority stockholder of AO Kazakhtelekom Aleksandr Klebanov, or more precisly, his patron and president’s oldest daughter Dariga Nazarabaev, could quite possibly have used the arisen opportunity to fire Kuanyshbek Esekeev, who was heading the national company since 2010. I.e. since the time when the key minority stockholder of AO Kazakhtelekom was Aygul Nurieva, behind whom there was a clearly seen presence of Karim Masimov (then prime-minister of RK).
Second possible explanation of the shakedown done by the Kazakhtelekom’s head of HR: Dariga Nazarbaev hasn’t come to a compromise with Karim Masimov or his representatives on the issues of soft transfer of control over the national company, and decided to act in the way traditional to Kazakhstan – through pressing. Evidently such measures of the older daughter of elbasy, fi they have taken place, wouldn’t have improved her relations with the current chairman of NBK.
The third explanation of what has happened a year ago, though, is much more complicated and mysterious: some important people in Akorda, highly interested in not allowing a more tight political alliance between Dariga Nazarbaeva and the current chairman of NBK, tried to create a strife between them on political grounds. Thankfully there were both grounds and reason for it; a separate issue is that this provocation or endurance test hasn’t succeeded.
In one of our earlier publications, we noted that there seems to be a political alliance forming between Dariga Nazarbaev and Karim Masimov, with Kairat Boranbaev, father in law of the former, serving as a middle man.
The fact that the head of Kazakhtelekom Kuanyshbek Esekeev, has preserved his seat and moreover, the scandalous information of miss Buketova wasn’t picked up by Kazakhstani law enforcement structures, somewhat proves that.
